Default Extending my services to local businesses...good idea & how to go about doing it...?

I do calligraphy, on the side (under the table) for a local wedding planner. I get maybe 1-3 jobs from her every year. I’ve posted an ad on a local website and had a few responses but no one that has committed. Do you think it would be a good idea to contact other local wedding planners/coordinators and let them know of my services?

Yes when canvassing you have got to remember you are always going to get no's but don't let them get you down in the past i have found calling people, going round door to door, leaflet drops and word of mouth all tho be useful.

Absolutely!

You already know what types of businesses can use your services, so now go out and market to other like businesses.

With something like calligraphy, you could also go nationally, or even on Ebay & Craigslist.

Good luck

I agree with Gem. Go, Go, Go! I'm in the same box right now.

I was asked to sing at the memorial service for my employer's mother which was being held at a funeral home. The director heard me and asked if I'd be interested in being called, if needed, to sing for other services held there. I said yes.

I made up a list of songs and the price, along with a bio and business card. I'll be presenting it to them this week. I feel if one funeral home would be interested, others would be too. When I market to them, I'll add a cover sheet and send as a package.

Once established, this is a service that can be extended for weddings, too!
