In our society, we're always complaining about people 'cheating' or being 'unfaithful' if they have relations with another person. Why are we so possessive about romantic relationships. Is it because exclusive relationships create a more stable society, or is it just our EGOs which feel threatened if we have to share someone's love?

I think it boils down to sex. You want to make sure that your partner is just with you. That is why most ppl want exclusivity.
